Ruth Ann Prowant

CLOVERDALE – Ruth Ann Prowant, 94, of Cloverdale, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at her residence. She was born September 22, 1931, in Cloverdale to the late William and Orah (Ladd) Myers. On June 9, 1957, she married Vernon Prowant, who preceded her in death on November 10, 2002.

Ruth is survived by two sons: Michael (Beulah) Prowant and Mitchell (Debra) Prowant, both of Cloverdale; eight grandchildren: Kristen Baksa, Kelli Limburg, Jeffrey Prowant, Samantha Luginbill, Krystle Scheffler, Vernon Prowant, Kerri Prowant, and Karson Prowant; four great-grandchildren, and one on the way.

She is also preceded in death by two children: Mark Wendell and Marla Wyn; siblings: Marion Myers, Samuel Myers, Virgil Myers, Simon Myers, David Myers, Isaac Myers, Louise Elkins-Wagner, Helen Holtsapple, and Ethel Ickes.

Ruth was a member of the Cloverdale Garden Club and Dupont Church, where she served as a Deaconess. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and spending time with her family.

Funeral Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Dupont Church with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale. A visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
