Ruth C. Lammers

The Villages, FL, formerly of Ottawa – Ruth C. Lammers, 78, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Ottawa died Thursday, June 16, 2022 at her residence.  She was born February 17, 1944 in Lima to the late Raymond and Emma (Kottenbrock) Sommer.  On June 27, 1964, she married David Lammers and he survives in The Villages, FL.

Other survivors include three sons; Matthew Lammers of Seattle, WA, Bart (Diana) Lammers of Sagamore Hills and Alex "AJ" (Crystal) Lammers, Avon; six grandchildren: Leah, Brooke, Anna, Madelyn, Audrey and Anthony; and a sister, Vera Alt of Tempe, AZ.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nina Sommer.

Ruth began her working days at Sylvania/Philips in Ottawa and later in life became a preschool teacher at Sunbeams in Leipsic as well as Loving Care Daycare in Ottawa. She  was also a proud stay-at-home mom when her boys were little.  Ruth was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, FL.  She was an avid reader and loved vacations and get-a-ways to the gulf or ocean.  Ruth also loved Words With Friends with Lois and Patty.

A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Putnam County District Library, Putnam County Hospice or The Villages Library.
