Ruth Ann Hancock
LEIPSIC – Ruth Ann Hancock, 73, of Leipsic passed away at 11:58 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. She was born July 21, 1948 in Findlay to the late Frank and Anna Mae (Patrick) Spradlin. She was married to James Spitnale, who preceded her in death. She then married Robert Dietsch, who also preceded her in death. On January 19, 1985, she married Reid Hancock, who survives in Leipsic.
Other survivors include three daughters: Lynnette (Michael) Hovest of Gilboa, Lori (Dale) Schroeder and Lisa (John) Rodriguez, both of Leipsic; three stepchildren: Jennifer (Alan) Maag of Defiance, Shannon (Mark Doster) Hovest of Pandora and Reid "Tony" (Paulina) Hancock of The Colony, TX; 14 grandchildren: Levin (Delaney) Hovest, Reed (Faith) Hovest, Shana (Gavin Cupp) Hovest, Presley (Jacob) Merz, Brooke (Bryant Butler) Rodriguez, Summer (Ryan) Burwell, Madyson Rodriguez, Brittani (Trevor) Schroeder, Branden (Kelly) Wentworth, Tanner Hovest, Trey Hovest, Ryne Maag, Josie Maag and Michael Maag; 6 step-grandchildren: Nick Schroeder, Jake Schroeder, Bailey Schroeder, Staci Heiby, Cody Doster and Emily Baker; 6 great-grandchildren and one of the way; 8 step great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a sister, Judy (John) Cooper of Oxford MI.
Ruth retired as the transportation coordinator for Otterbein, Leipsic. She was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church, Leipsic Eagles Auxiliary, Leipsic VFW and Order of the Eastern Star. She was on the Putnam County Fair board for over 25 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motorhome, sitting on her back porch taking in the view and spending time with family and friends. Ruth loved her grandkids and enjoyed following them in all their sporting events.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
