Obituary

Ruth Marie (Stahl) Williams

OAKWOOD - Ruth Marie (Stahl) Williams passed away peacefully on November 18, 2023, at the Bryan healthcare facility.  She was born December 12, 1930, in Grover Hill, Ohio to the late John and Edythe (Glenn) Stahl.

She graduated from Grover Hill High School and later met and married Harold Williams on February 4, 1950.  She is perhaps best remembered by many students who enjoyed her cookies as she was a cook for 30 years in the Oakwood school cafeteria.  She was a stalwart member of Twin Oaks Methodist Church (now known as Oakwood Community Church) in Oakwood where she participated in every aspect of the church including singing in the choir and volunteering for the many missions of the church.  Ruth was a life-long blood donor giving over 33 gallons of blood in Paulding, Ohio.  She was also passionate about keeping Oakwood clean by picking up litter every day on her morning walk.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings:  Bob Stahl, Margaret Craft, Bill Stahl and Linda Sidle, her beloved grandson, Morgan Bussing and her son-in-law Chris Bussing.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 73 years, Harold Williams, her sons and their wives, Doug (Jane) Williams of Rossford, Ohio, Dave (Wendy) Williams of Copley, Ohio, and daughter Dawn Bussing of Pelham, Alabama.  Also surviving are grandchildren Derek (Anne) Williams, Dustin (Jen) Williams, Erin (Jason) Kocab, Julie (Scott) Jones, Danielle (Ronnie) Bacon, Deede (Andrew) Winch, Drew (Jessica) Williams, Meghan (Nate) McGillivray, and great-grandchildren Erick and Blake Williams, Cole and Kellan Kocab, Mia and Nadia Williams, Ethan and Emma Jones, Emma Caroline Tinsley, and Jazmyn Azan of Florida.

A Celebration of Life will be held December 2, 2023, at Oakwood Community Church with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 1:00 pm.  A luncheon will be provided after the service in the church fellowship building.  Memorial gifts may be sent to the Oakwood Community Church, 201 E. Harmon Street, Oakwood, OH 45873.

Arrangements are being handled by Heitmeyer Funeral Home in Oakwood, OH.
