Sandra Jane Verhoff

OTTAWA – Sandra Jane Verhoff, 71, of Ottawa died at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Meadows of Ottawa.  She was born December 8, 1949 in Lima to the late Thomas and Arleen (Hovest) Verhoff.

Sandy is survived by her sister: Nancy Schroeder of Ottawa; and her brother: Dan (Linda) Verhoff, also of Ottawa; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, who she loved to tease and spend time with.

She was preceded in death by her beloved brother: Charles "Jay" Verhoff, and her brother-in-law: William "Bill" Schroeder.

Sandy was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, where she was a minister of praise.  She loved music, especially polka music and the "oldies".  She enjoyed polka dances, bowling, baking and traveling.  She never turned down an opportunity to ride the "tilt-a-whirl" or the "scrambler".  Her smile and her giggle were always contagious. However, she most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Father Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
