Sara Acevedo Mata LEIPSIC – Sara Acevedo Mata, 76, of Leipsic, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born April 12, 1949, in McAllen, Texas to the late Manuel and Jesusa (Casas) Acevedo.  On March 11, 1967, she married Alfonso Mata, he survives in Leipsic. Sara is also survived by seven children: Sarah Carrillo of Texas, Jose Mata, Esmeralda Lucero, both of Columbus, Noraelia Elizarraga of Leipsic, David Mata of Columbus, Veronica Mata, and Rebeca Giron, both of Leipsic; twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; five brothers; and one sister. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna Mata; and two sisters. Sara was a member of the Fountain of Life Pentecostal Church, Leipsic. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday April 28, 2025, at Fountain of Life Pentecostal Church, Leipsic, with Pastor Jose Zamora officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
