Savas Rivas

OTTAWA - Savas Rivas II, 69, of Ottawa died 7:55 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at The Meadows of Ottawa.  He was born December 6, 1946 to the late Savas and Georgia (Perez) Rivas.

Survivors include four children: Melinda (Alex) Palomo of Ottawa, Savas Rivas, Jr. of Muskegon, MI, Connie Rivas of Deshler and Lina (Mark) Nicholes of Muskegon, MI; four step-children: Trina (Alejandro) Gasca of Glendale Heights, IL, Florence (Phillip) Arrendondo of Maryland, Faustino (Kent Bentley) Gonzales of Columbus and Jose (Dusty) Gonzales of Mansfield; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild;  five sisters: Sarah Rivas, Mary Perez, Janie Garza, Patsy Guerra and Rachel Perez all of Texas; and a brother: Benny Rivas of Grand Rapids, MI.

He was also preceded in death by a son: Jose Rivas and a brother: Alejandro Rivas.

Savas was a welder for Gilbert and Riplo in Ravenna, MI.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, darts, karaoke and spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Rev. George Jarrell officiating.  Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.

Memorial donation my be used towards the funeral expenses.
