Serge James "Jim" Brooks

LEIPSIC – Serge James "Jim" Brooks, 93, of Leipsic, passed away at 11:55 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2025, at The Meadows of Leipsic. He was born March 16, 1932, in West Leipsic to the late Wayne and Hattie (Mull-Hoskins) Brooks.  On November 21, 1953, he married Edith White, who survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include 5 children: Kim (Tammie) Brooks of Leipsic, Beth (Ted) Diller of Pandora, Daryl (Julie) Brooks of Ottawa, Brad (Bonita) Brooks of Pandora and Julie (Chris) Roof of Ottawa; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by 11 siblings: Herbert (Lucille) Brooks, Lowell (Florence) Brooks, Clyde (Velma) Brooks, Clifford (Ruth) Brooks, Clarence (Lavon) Brooks, Mabel (Lloyd) Risley, Charles Brooks, Paul (Teresa) Brooks, George (Agnes) Brooks, Sylvia (Ralph) Rettig and Ella (Paul) Mansfield.

Jim retired from the former Allied Egri in Leipsic and had also worked for Allied Rusco in Pandora. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars, especially muscle cars. Jim loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Lilac House, Meadows of Leipsic. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
