Sharon K. (Huber) Volk

FLORIDA (formerly of Ottawa) – Sharon K. (Huber) Volk passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Cedarhurst Assisted Living. Sharon loved her family and friends. She would get so excited when they would visit them in Florida or just called. She is survived by her two children; son, David Volk of Findlay, OH and daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie (Greg) Snider of Fort Wayne, IN; her cherished five grandchildren: Jacklyn (Tyler) Morrison, Elijah Volk, both of Clarksville, TN, Steven Snider of Port Charlotte, FL, Matthew Snider of Fort Wayne, IN and Brian Snider of St. Petersburg, FL; and a great-granddaughter, Eleanor "Ellie" Morrison.

She is also survived by her four siblings: Nancy (Marty) Williams of Westerville, OH, James (Judy) Huber of Dacono, CO, Jill (Brett) Smith of Prairieville, LA, and Denise Wood of Ontario, OH; and two sisters-in-law; MaryAnn Volk of Washington, MO and Marilyn Volk of St. Louis, MO.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Denis Huber; three brothers-in-law: Donald Wood, Kenneth Volk and Robert (Bo) Volk; and her precious dog, Lilly Bean.

Sharon was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa before moving to Florida.  She then became a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Jacksonville, FL. She took pride in cleaning the church after masses. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Mayo Clinic. Sharon loved hosting Bridge card parties, attending Bridge with friends at various card clubs and playing tennis in Ottawa. She worked at Philips ECG, Ottawa before moving to Florida.

The family would like to thank the staff of ProMedica Hospice and Cedarhurst of Fort Wayne, IN for the awesome care of mom. The staff of Cedarhurst was so loving to mom that they gave her a nickname, Shar-Bear.
