Obituary

Sheila Vorst

GLANDORF - Sheila Vorst, 45, of Glandorf, passed away at 12:45 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Ambulatory Care Center, Glandorf. She was born July 31, 1980, in Lima to Elmer and Marianne (Ellerbrock) Tobe. Her father preceded her in death, and her mother survives in Glandorf.

As a teenager, she met and fell in love with her wonderful husband, Craig Vorst, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2022. They were married on November 12, 2005, and were blessed with four wonderful children: Carter, Ella, Maya, and Reid Vorst, all at home.

In addition to her mother and children, Sheila is survived by seven siblings: Joshua (Adrienne) Tobe of Glandorf, Jamie (Bradley) Duncan of Shawnee, Shannon (Joshua) Hadding, Jason (Kelly) Tobe, Nichole (Brian) Spears all of Glandorf, Nathan (Nicole) Tobe of Delphos and Carissa (Uriah) Burke of Ottawa; many nieces and nephews; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Dennis and Norma Vorst of Kalida; sister-in-law, Natalie Vorst of Toledo; brother-in-law, Jeff Vorst (deceased).

Sheila was a remarkable wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Glandorf. After Craig’s passing, she showed incredible strength by leaning into her faith, growing closer and closer to God until she was called home to heaven. She loved her family with all her heart, instilling this same religious strength in her children and surrounding them with love and compassion.

Sheila dedicated her life to serving others as a physical therapist at ProMedica in Defiance, focusing on pediatric care, as well as doing volunteer work, and mission trips. Sheila was incredibly caring, humble and kind. She had a smile to light up any room. She enjoyed going to the lake and vacationing with her family and many dear friends where she built wonderful memories. She will be greatly missed by all, especially by those who loved her so deeply.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Father Matt Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service Thursday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or the Vorst Children’s gofundme account. Condolences may be expressed at www.loveheitmeyer.com.
