Sheldon "Red" Doud
CLOVERDALE – Sheldon Doud passed away peacefully at 7:49 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his residence in Cloverdale. Red was born November 22, 1936 in Barton, New York to the late Raymond and Anna (Estelle) Doud. On July 23, 1967, he married Kaye Luther, who survives in Cloverdale.
He is also survived by 4 children: Karen Martin of Deshler, Sandra (Darren) Oxford of Mt Juliet, TN, Frank (Patti) Doud of Ottawa and Lisa Doud of Farmingdale, NJ; his niece, Vicki Doud of Florida; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and twin great-grandchildren on the way.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Stanford; sister, Caroline; nephew, Robert Doud; and son-in-law, Wilbert Martin III.
Red served in the US Army National Guard and worked for Bell Telephone Company for 36 years. He was a man of many talents: 4-H leader, Boy Scout Leader and Bull Dogger in the rodeos. When his daughter, Lisa, participated in the Iron Man in Lake Placid, he drove the Sports Illustrated Photographer on his motorcycle in the biking events. He loved taking care of his lawn and gardens at his home and helped out with various projects at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa.
Funeral service will begin at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Pastor Lynda Lockwood officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
