Shirley Ann Russell

LEIPSIC - Shirley Ann Russell, 85, of Leipsic, died at 7:30 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2021 at The Legacy Assisted Living, Findlay.  She was born on January 12, 1936 in Leipsic to the late Chester and Mary (Weaver) Haughn. She married her high school sweetheart, Frederick Russell, on June 28, 1958. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1994. She later married Harold Otto, who preceded her in death on February 4, 2017.

Shirley is survived by a son: Owen (Nancy) Russell of Douglasville, Georgia;  two daughters: Cynthia (Hal) Jackson of Westerville, Ohio and Jocelyn (Brian) Abbott of Leipsic, Ohio; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by a sister: Jean (Don) DeWeese of Piqua, Ohio; two sisters-in-law: Nancy Haughn of Chandler, Texas and Sally Bogard of Leipsic; and two brothers-in-law: Don Russell and James Russell, both of Leipsic.

Shirley was preceded in death by a brother: Dr. Jerry Haughn.

Shirley was a graduate of Leipsic High School Class of 1954. She graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Putnam Acres Care Center for many years. Shirley was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church of Leipsic, Ohio.

Shirley's funeral service will begin 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Julie Parsell officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
