Steven Strauer

KALIDA - Steven Strauer, 67, of Kalida, died 12:04 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at his residence.  He was born January 22, 1950 in Lima, to the late Robert and Joann (Hermiller) Strauer.  On September 25, 1971 he married Christine Fortman, who survives.

Survivors also include three children: Erin (Jason) Hoffman, Dean (Amber) Strauer, and Kyle (Tracy) Strauer, all of Kalida;  two siblings: Rob (Becky) Strauer of Glandorf, and Carol Siebeneck of Ottawa; and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law: Harold Siebeneck.

Steve was a member of St Michael's Catholic Church in Kalida, had served in the National Guard, was a self employed mechanic and currently worked for K&L in Kalida. He retired from General Motors of Defiance and was a Local 211 UAW retiree member.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at St Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a scripture service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
