Shirleen Sue (Hawkins) Best

COLUMBUS GROVE - Sue (Hawkins) Best passed away at home with her family by her side at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.  She was born on July 3, 1948 in Marion, IN to Alice (Finch) Hawkins and Everette Hawkins. She graduated from Bath High School in 1966. She met the love of her life, Al Best who survives in Columbus Grove, when she was just 14 years old and he was 15. They were married on July 20, 1968 for 52 wonderful years.

Other survivors include three children: Teresa (Dayton) Keller of Bryan,  Tracie (Lee) Rosengarten of Bluffton and Tanya Best (Belinda Stevens) of Shawnee; four grandchildren: Austin (Adrian) Bricker, Dakota Bricker, Emiley Keller and Addison Keller; a step-grandson, Cole Rosengarten; six siblings: Larry Hawkins, Rex (Donna) Hawkins, RuAnna (Ronald) Lackey, Fred (Shirley) Hawkins, Doug (Anita) Hawkins, Kevin (Penny) Hawkins; and a brother-in-law Gary Gallagher.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Hawkins, her father, Everette Hawkins, a sister, Vicki Gallagher, a sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Frank Nester, a sister-in-law Jane Hawkins and son-in-law, Chris Bricker.

Sue was loved by many and left few words unspoken. Per Sue's wishes, there will be no services.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Rita's Hospice.
