Teresa R. Scheckelhoff

NEW CLEVELAND – Teresa R. Scheckelhoff, 75, of New Cleveland, died at 1:47 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at her residence. She was born June 19, 1946 in Delphos to the late Herbert and Helen (Hofstetter) Odenweller. On November 29, 1969, she married Donald Othmar Scheckelhoff, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2016.

Survivors include four sons: Eric (Kelly) Scheckelhoff of Elida, Kirk Scheckelhoff of Leipsic, Joseph (Lila) Scheckelhoff of Rochester Hills, MI, Charles (Susan) Scheckelhoff of Miller City; 16 grandchildren; and three brothers: Herbert Odenweller of Van Wert, Ty (Carlene) Odenweller of Shawnee and Jack Odenweller of Sylvania.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Brenda Scheckelhoff.

Teresa graduated from St. Rita's School of Nursing and retired as a registered nurse from Putnam County HomeCare and Hospice. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland and its Altar Rosary Society and served as a choir member and Eucharistic minister. Teresa was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved baking, gardening and attending her grandkids' activities.

Funeral Mass will begin 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Fr. Scott Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic, where there will be a vigil service at 7:45 p.m. and rosary service at 8 p.m., as well as a visitation from 9 - 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Putnam County HomeCare and Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
