Terry E. Ruble
CONTINENTAL – Terry E. Ruble, 81, of Continental died 2:45 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and the beloved nurses who took such compassionate care of him at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice, Defiance. He was born January 24, 1943, in Monroeville, IN to the late Harvey and Esther (Tope) Ruble. On May 7, 1961, he married Kay Sidle who survives. They shared 63 years of marriage.
Other survivors include three children: Lisa (Terry) McClure and Jeff Ruble, both of Grover Hill and Michelle (Mike) Pitney of Continental; seven grandchildren: Ryan (Nikki) McClure, Alison (Josiah) Stoller, Madison (Ryan) Amundsen, Jacob (Heather) Pitney, Sara (Jeremy) Snyder, Bradley (Lyndsey) Ruble and Derek Ruble; fourteen great-grandchildren: Caleb, Drew, Brianna and Emily McClure; Callen, Maylee and Sawyer Stoller; Claire Amundsen; Blake Ruble; Jayden, Braxton and Brantley Pitney; and Eleanor and Clayton Snyder; a sister: Arlene (Doyt) Mason of Nashville; and a sister-in-law, Ramona Ruble of Grover Hill.
He was also preceded in death by two siblings: Norma (Joe) Davis and Gene Ruble.
Terry was a lifelong farmer in Grover Hill. Over the years he was also employed by Baughman Tile and retired as a team member from Cooper Farms.
Like the rest of his family, Terry loved music and enjoyed playing with his family and other bands throughout his life. He enjoyed playing music by ear, and especially loved his country music. He just recently was able to pick up his guitar and fiddle and play music one last time with much joy. Terry and his beloved wife loved traveling, camping and spending summers at the area campgrounds.
Funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Middle Creek United Methodist Church, Grover Hill with Pastor Brent Gibson and Dave Prior officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental and again on Wednesday for 1 hour prior to the service at church.
