Theresa M. Heiing

OTTAWA - Theresa M. Heiing, 88, of Ottawa died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Lima Memorial Health System.  She was born March 25, 1929 in Ottoville to the late Charles and Clara (Pittner) Sawmiller.  She married Alfred Heiing in 1948 and he died November 29, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Schnipke and Fiancé Ben Eldridge of Ottawa; grandson, Mike (Joy) Cass of Lima; great-grandson, Tyler Cass; and two sisters: Dorothy Metcalfe and Clara Honigfort.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Harold, Paul and Cyril Sawmiller and five sisters:  Ruth Menke, Gertrude Michel, Rosie Seiment, Alice Beckman and Mary Sawmiller.

Theresa retired from Philips, formerly of Ottawa and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.  Theresa loved gardening, fishing with Alfred and spending time at Lake Erie.  One of her favorite things to do was spend time with her grandson, Mike and great-grandson, Tyler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Mark Hoying officiating.  There will be a Celebration of Life following the Mass in the Fellowship Hall of Trinity Untied Methodist Church.

The arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
