Thomas Edward Proctor, Jr.

DEFIANCE - Thomas Edward Proctor, Jr., 57, of Defiance, also known by TJ, papa, uncle and many other nicknames passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at Defiance In-Patient Hospice Care. He was born on June 28, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Thomas "Tommie" and  Mary "Bonnie" (Caskey) Proctor.

TJ graduated in 1984 from Vantage Vocational in Van Wert, Ohio. On November 8, 1988, he  married his high school sweetheart, Margaret (Thomas) Proctor who survives in Defiance. They married for 32 years.  He was a hard worker starting as a teenager, first working with his dad in construction, then Campbell's/Silgan Container where he retired and then still working odd jobs. With his wife being the love of his life, he also lived for and loved his children and grandchildren. TJ loved going fishing and being there for his babies, but he also loved taking off to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

TJ is survived by four children: Cass Proctor, Belynda (Will) Merwin, Brittany (Joshua) Prielipp, Thomas (Miranda) Proctor; 15 grandchildren: Kenneth, Star, Jocelyn, Dean, Mason, Parker, Elizabeth, Sofia, Joseph, Silas, Skyler, Dixie, Dalyla, Clayton, and soon to be born, William; two sisters: Diana Altom and Lisa (Ted) Collins.

Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Pastor Tom Scott officiating.  Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood.  Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
