Thomas J. Recker

KALIDA - Thomas J. Recker, 83, of Kalida died 8:11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born January 7, 1939 in Kalida to the late Cletus and Hilda (Brinkman) Recker.  On May 13, 1961 he married Carol Unverferth, who survives in Kalida.

He is also survived by 3 children:  Joe (Lori) Recker, Shari (Steve) Mock and Greg (Amy) Recker, all of Kalida; 9 grandchildren:  Kyle (Jess) Recker, Brandon (Lauren) Recker, Jordan (Nikki) Basinger, Nicole (Austin) Horstman, Owen Recker, Morgan Mock, Neil (Emily) Recker, Griffin Recker and Josh Recker; 8 great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law:  Carl Kahle of Kalida.

Thomas in preceded in death by a sister:  Joyce Kahle.

Thomas retired from Scot Lad, Lima and was a veteran of the Army National Guard.  He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, its Holy Name Society, the Kalida Lion's Club and the Kalida K of C.  He loved spending time with his family.

The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and again on Tuesday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kalida Baseball Association Holy Name Ballpark.
