Thomas A. Stewart

Leipsic -- Thomas A. Stewart, 64, of Leipsic, died at 3:11 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Birchaven Village in Findlay.  He was born June 11, 1951 in Lima to the late Gerald Stewart and Josephine (Hazelton) Stewart-Selhorst.

He is survived by two children: Laurie (John) Maag of Temperance, MI, Gerald (Jaime) Stewart of Morengo, OH; four grandchildren: Shannon Maag, Cassie Maag, Faith Stewart, Trevor Stewart; and a girlfriend: Terri Leopold.  He was preceded in death by his sister: Nancy Borchers.

Tom was employed at Allied Egry in Leipsic for over 35 years, and was the President of Local 270 GCC/IBT for 12 years. He was a "Mr. Fix-It," who liked to get his hands dirty and work on projects around the house. One of his favorite pastimes was listening to Detroit Tigers games on the radio, and he was especially fond growing up and sharing in that pastime with his father. He enjoyed old movies especially the ones staring Humphrey Bogart. Tom was also a 1969 graduate of Miller City High School.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa with Rev. Marshall Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
