Thomas H. Vorst

OTTOVILLE-Thomas H. Vorst, 85, of Ottoville died at 10:10 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  He was born March 20, 1935 in Kalida to the late Ben and Anna (Hovest) Vorst.

Tom is survived by his children: Mark (Lisa) Vorst, Dan (Mary) Vorst, both of Ottoville, Catherine (Don Kenney) Vorst, and Diane Strut, both of Whitehouse; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and two on the way; a sister: Elaine Schroeder of Columbus Grove; and his companion: Judith Malone.

He is preceded in death by a son: Doug Vorst; three brothers: Elmer, Carl and Harold Vorst; a sister: Sarah Meyer; his ex-wife: Joan Vorst-Bleim; and a companion of 25 years: Frances Donston.

Tom was a life long farmer and a truck driver.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.  Tom was a member of the Eagles and Knight of Columbus.

A private funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Father Jerome Schetter officiating. The funeral mass will be live streamed on the church Facebook page.  Burial will follow at  St. Mary's Cemetery. In keeping with the social distancing guidelines masks will be required upon entering the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
