Thomas E. Weis
OTTAWA - Thomas E. Weis, 72, of Ottawa died at 3:59 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at The Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus. He was born April 12, 1941 in Lima. His father, Elmer A. Weis is deceased, his mother, Elizabeth (Callawaert) Weis Kreidler survives in Ottawa. His step father, James Kreidler is deceased. On February 17, 1962 he married Sandy Sroufe who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are 3 children: Shawn T. Weis of Leipsic, Kyle E. (Annette) Weis of Ottawa, and Scott A. Weis of Ottawa; 6 grandchildren: Kara, Logan, Lucas, Josh, Thomas, and Andrew Weis; a great-grandchild: Brooklynn Weis; 2 brothers: Ron (Marge) Weis of Florida, John (Evie) Weis of Ottawa; a sister: Janet Bhatti Weis of Ottawa; a sister-in-law: Judy Weis of Michigan; 2 step brothers: Terry (Darlene) Kreidler of Colorado, Al (Mary Jo) Kreidler of Lima; and 2 step sisters: Sherrie (Jim) Butler of Ottawa, and Sue Frey of Pandora. A brother: Robert Weis also preceded him in death.
Tom was retired from General Dynamics in Lima. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Miller City Sportsman Club, Ottawa Eagles, Lima Eagles, and a life member of the Leipsic Fishing and Hunting Association. He had served in the National Guard.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Deacon Jim Rump officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice.
