Thomas R. Wilmoth

TROY – Thomas R. Wilmoth, 80 years old of Troy, Ohio, passed from this life to his heavenly home at 4:13 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  He was born June 13, 1942 in Dayton to the late Shirley and Ruth Wilmoth.

Tom is survived by three children: Michelle Mote of FL, Kathy (David) Kirchner of Conover and Jeff (Stacey) Wilmoth of Dayton; one stepdaughter, Debra (Jim) Clark of Troy; one sister, Betty Bright of Monterey, TN; one brother, John Wilmoth of Cookville, TN; six grandchildren: Kelsey Kirchner, Britny Godwin, Thomas Hecker, Luke Mote, Shayne Price and Chase Wilmoth; and numerous great-grandchildren and other family and close friends.

Tom was preceded in death, not only by his mother and father; but also, his wife, Carole K. Wilmoth of 32 years who died in 1996; his wife, Ruth Shoemaker of 20 years who died in 2019; and seven siblings: Mary Catherine, Joe, Carl, Ed, Wallace, Mac and Shirley.

Tom was a 1962 graduate from Tippecanoe High School and a retired from General Motors, Vandalia after 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, baseball, NASCAR, fishing, attending tractor pulls and county fairs.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood. Burial will follow in Hedges Cemetery, Broughton. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
