Tim E. Kahle
PANDORA - Tim E. Kahle, 56, passed away at 8:48 a.m. January 11, 2015, at his residence, following a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Tim was born June 4, 1958, in Lima to Herman and Imogene Kahle. His mother survives in Kalida. On May 29th, 1982 he married Lois Wischmeyer, who survives in Pandora, along with their three children, Travis, Matt, and Rachel.
Also surviving are three brothers: Robert (Kathy) Kahle, of Monclova, Chuck (Davia) Kahle, of Austin, TX, Steve (Terra) Kahle, of Akron; four sisters: Jan (Denny) Metzger of Whitehouse, Nancy (Jack) Englehart of Defiance, Karen (Jeff) Gross of Largo, FL, Marilyn (Steve) Baxter of Ottawa; his mother-in-law: Kathleen Wischmeyer of Ottawa; two sister-in-laws: Jan (Jeff) Fuetter, Nancy (John) Schaub both of Ottawa; three brother-in-laws : Denny Wischmeyer of Mt. Sterling, Tom (Judy) Wischmeyer and Joe (Carol) Wischmeyer both of Ottawa. Together they have 25 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Herman Kahle and father-in-law Ralph Wischmeyer.
Tim was a 1976 graduate of Kalida High School. He and Lois lived and worked in Midland, TX from 1982-1988. After returning to Ohio he worked at The University of Findlay. Tim attended Owens Community College in 1993 where he earned an electrical engineering degree. He then worked at Grob Systems in Bluffton for 16 years until December of 2013, when he could no longer work.
Tim was always young at heart and a dedicated father and husband. He loved coaching his kids sports teams, as well as being instrumental in getting the P-G High School soccer program started. He served on the P-G Athletics boosters. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton where he helped with the maintenance committee, teaching religion class, ushering, and going on mission trips. Tim brought much laughter and joy to everyone around him. Tim will be remembered for his love of the Lord, devotion to family and friends, and service to others.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the mass at the church on Thursday.
Tim would want to thank all of his friends and family that supported him in his difficult battle with ALS. The kindness shown to him often brought him to tears.
