Timothy E. Fortman
OTTAWA - Timothy E. Fortman, 66, of Ottawa died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Kindred Hospital, Lima. He was born May 27, 1946 in Lima to Elmer and Alice (Odenweller) Fortman. His mother is deceased, his father survives in The Meadows of Kalida. On September 27, 1969 he married Linda Gerdeman who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving is a daughter: Katie Fortman of Dayton; a brother: Robert (Nancy) Fortman of Findlay; 3 sisters: Marcia (Roger) Lammers of Ottawa, Barbara (Keith) Hall of Dayton, and Mary Jo (Dan) Bockrath of Glandorf; and several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
Tim retired after over 35 years at Fortman's Body Repair in Ottawa. He was a 1964 graduate of Ottawa High School. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the Port Clinton Moose, and Ottawa Eagles. Tim loved going to his cottage at Lake Erie and visiting Put-in-Bay. He enjoyed fishing and Monday night poker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul School.
