Timothy Robert Landwehr
FT. JENNINGS – Timothy Robert Landwehr, 53 of Ft. Jennings died 8:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born September 27, 1972, in Lima to Jerome and Dorothy (Birkemeier) Landwehr. His father is deceased. His mother survives in Ottoville. On March 16, 1996, he married Annette Buss and she survives in Ft. Jennings.
Other survivors include three children: Kenzie Landwehr of Toledo, Justin Landwehr, and Kailyn Landwehr both of Ft. Jennings; and three siblings: Lori (Karl) Boecker of Columbus, Steve (Michelle) Landwehr of Ottoville and Terry (Mandy Bilderback) Landwehr of Van Wert.
Tim worked for Federal Mogul, now Tenneco, of Van Wert. He was also owner and grill master of Tim’s Backyard BBQ, and won multiple awards at the Kalida Pioneer with his wings including 1st place in Judges Choice in 2016, 2017, and 2021 and 2nd place Judges Choice in 2018 and 2022. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings, and Ft. Jennings American Legion. Tim served in the US Navy, and as a veteran always participated with the color guard for local military funerals. Tim was an avid supporter of Fort Fest and volunteered to help however and whenever he could, and loved motorcycles, mustangs, the OSU Buckeyes, Oakland Raiders, and the Navy Midshipman football teams. Above all else, Tim loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Funeral mass will begin 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings with Fr. Ron Shock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rights by the Ft. Jennings American Legion. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp with a scripture at 1:45 p.m. and visitation one hour prior to the mass Tuesday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to T & A Landwehr Children through Ft. Jennings State Bank.
