Timothy “Tim” Knippen
OTTAWA – Timothy “Tim” Knippen, 57, of Rescare, Ottawa, formerly of Ottoville passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima surrounded by his family.
He was born April 25, 1969, in Ottoville to the late Jim and Sharon (Plescher) Knippen. Tim was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend whose warm and joyful spirit positively impacted many lives.
He is survived by his eight siblings: Shirley Patterson of Van Wert, Joe Knippen of Wapakoneta, Rick "Mase" (Shannon) Knippen of Ottoville, Jayne Knippen Minnig of Miller City, Robb (Jill) Knippen of Fort Jennings, Kassie (John) Sarka of Ottoville, Ortha (Bill) Lanoue of Angola, IN and Olivia (David) Maag of Columbus, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Pat Knippen.
Tim enjoyed fishing trips, time at the lake, boat rides, car races, and spending time outdoors. He lived a simple life and deeply valued laughter and time shared with his loved ones.
He will be remembered for his free spirit and his well-known saying “Yeah, Yeah”.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to Rescare and Brookhill, where Tim lived and worked daily, as well as to the Mercy Health ICU staff for their compassionate care.
A graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville with Deacon Larry Schimmoeller officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. A scripture service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
His memory and love will live on in the hearts of all who know him.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
