Tom C. Niese
Kalida – Tom C. Niese, 68, of Kalida died 2:03 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.   He was born May 17, 1943 in Ottawa to the late Claude and Agnes (Geckle) Niese.  On April 24, 1965, he married Marilyn Unverferth who survives in Kalida.
Tom is also survived by his 4 children:  Gwen (Cody) Clymer of Columbus Grove, Dean (Michele) Niese of Kalida, Kevin (Joan) Niese of Kalida and Matt Niese of Cloverdale; a brother: John (Judy Miller) Geckle of Kalida; 6 grandchildren: Bryant Clymer, Brooke Clymer, Cody Niese, Connor Niese, Morgan Niese and Tori Niese.  He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Dick and Jim Niese.
Tom did accounting for Crane Supply in Lima and also was co-owner of Winner Circle, Cloverdale.  He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida; former Mayor of Kalida; member of Kalida Fish and Game Club and Kalida Knights of Columbus.  He was manager of Black Anges Softball Team and umpired many softball tournaments.  He owned standard breed horses.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in church cemetery.   Visitation will be held 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa where a K of C Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
