Tristen René Piña

OTTAWA (formerly of Hamler) - Tristen René Piña was born on July 22, 1988, to Andrea Flores (Saul) of Gilboa and René Piña of Defiance, and he passed away August 5, 2025, in a tragic work accident. He spent 37 years laughing and loving his way through life as a son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and, most importantly to him, a father. His beautiful children, Angelina, 19, and Angel, 17, were his first love's and why he hustled every day.  We specifically acknowledge his grandparents, Maggie and Joe Piña, and his Godmother, Norma Larson, for playing such significant roles in his life.

Tristen will be remembered for his unending kindness, his sense of humor along with infectious laughter, and his willingness to help anyone in need. He enjoyed attending car shows, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, riding his Harley, and taking his Mustang for long drives. His presence will be missed every day by his siblings, Crystal and Tony, his bonus brother, Jacob, his "sisters" Marina and Reina, and his nieces, Emerald and Elysiana. His many Tías, Tíos, grandparents, cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends will forever cherish his beaming smile, warm hugs, and relentless curiosity for all things in the world. We ask that you join us in keeping his memory alive by telling his stories.

A funeral service will begin 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Ada Hilton officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life is being arranged for late September.
