Velma I. Koenig
Florida, Formerly of Miller City - Velma I. Koenig, 89, of Florida and formerly of Miller City, died 2:45 a.m., Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Sunrise Health and Rehab Center, Sunrise FL. She was born April 16, 1925, in Miller City to the late Stephen and Catherine (Steffan) Babek. On July 16, 1949, she married Eugene Koenig and he died October 1, 2006.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Beverly Richardt of Pompano Beach, FL and Barbara (Gregory) Przybylski of N. Lauderdale, FL; and a granddaughter: Melanie Hoffman of Pompano Beach, FL.
She was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Susan Kaufman, Elizabeth Kaufman, Anna Swab and Amelia Palusak.
Velma retired from Philips ECG after 42 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
A Memorial Mass will begin 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City with Fr. Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
