Velma Luttfring

OTTAWA - Velma Luttfring, 77, of Ottawa, passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Meadows of Ottawa. She was born August 15, 1948, in Lima to the late Edwin and Bertha (Diemer) Schroeder. On September 23, 1978, she married David Luttfring, he preceded her in death on June 19, 2010.

Velma is survived by siblings: Carol (Albert) Epps of Spencerville, Don (Marlene) Schroeder of New Cleveland, Edna (Bernard) Schnipke of Miller City, Mary (Ralph) Eversole of Lima, Carl (Karen) Schroeder of Glandorf, Teresa Schroeder of Toledo, Marvin Schroeder of New Cleveland, Connie (Tony) Crawfis of Gilboa, and Mike (Katherine) Schroeder of Glandorf; brother-in-law: Mike Hampel of Marion; and sister-in-law: Mary Ann Schroeder of Miller City.

She is also preceded in death by sisters, Delores “Dee” Hampel and Marlene Thomas; a brother, Gerald Schroeder; a sister-in-law, Lois Schroeder; and a brother-in-law, Randy Thomas.

Velma was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Tim McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
