Victor Peña, Sr.

LEIPSIC – Victor Peña, Sr., 65, of Leipsic, died at 11:07 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born August 7, 1957 in Reynosa, Mexico to the late Manuel and Bertha (Briseño) Peña. On February 14, 1979, he married Marcelina "Marcy" Azua, who survives in Leipsic.

He is also survived by 6 children: Jose (Esmeralda) Jimenez, Yadira (Travis) Chamberlin, Victor (Marina) Peña, Jr., all of Leipsic, Lupe (Erica) Peña of Findlay, Rosie (Jared Rinker) Peña of Rudolph and Yesenia Peña of Leipsic, 26 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Clara Peña of Leipsic and Elena Renteria of Texas; 4 brothers: David Peña, Manuel Peña, Jr., Jose Peña and Ricardo Peña, all of Texas.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Gutierrez.

Victor retired from Hearthside Food Solutions, McComb. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic. Victor loved music, dancing, fishing and was a master storyteller. He was also a gun enthusiast and enjoyed shooting at the gun range. Victor loved spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige and Deacon Ben Valdez officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at St. Mary's Parish Life Center, Leipsic.
