Viola Friemoth

OTTOVILLE - Viola Friemoth, 88, of Ottoville died at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Loveland Lodge, Cincinnati.  She was born December 21, 1927 in Ottoville to the late Joseph T. and Lucy (Knippen) Horstman. On September 27, 1947 she married Jerome A. Friemoth who died October 6, 2015.

She is survived by five children: Jeanne (Tom) Miller of Redondo Beach, CA, Dr. Jerry (Mary) Friemoth of Cincinnati, Diane (Dr. James) Gibfried of Springfield, Thomas (Penny) Friemoth of Toledo, and Dale (Rachel) Friemoth of Loveland; twenty-three grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a sister: Louise (Robert "Cookie") Miller of Ottoville. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Edmund and Elmer Horstman; a sister: Fredonna Eickholt; and two great-grandchildren: Christian Buckley and August John Miller.

Viola formerly worked as a Putnam County Librarian at the Ottoville Library for 23 years.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and was a faithful member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary where she was a historian for them. Viola cherished her family so very much and loved the time she spent with them. She enjoyed reading, sewing, especially embroidery and cross stitch, gardening and baking.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Ottoville where there will be a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to the Ottoville Branch of the Putnam County Library.
