Viola Margaret (Lanker) Hinojosa

LEIPSIC - Viola Margaret (Lanker) Hinojosa, 77, of Leipsic, died at 3:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born on May 7, 1944 in McComb, Ohio to the late Ida Grace Lanker. Vi was married to Gary Lee Gibson and later divorced. On June 13, 1975, she married Jesse S. Hinojosa, who preceded her in death on November 14, 2018.

Other survivors include her two sons: Brent (Miriam) Gibson of Leipsic and Todd (Suzanne) Gibson of Holly Springs, North Carolina; five step-children: Jesse Hinojosa of Mokena, Illinois, Beatriz (Jesus) Flores of Apache Junction, Arizona, Juan (Stephanie) Hinojosa of Miami, Florida, Jorge (Gloria) Hinojosa of Chicago, Illinois and Jose (Lorena) of Ottawa.  Vi had four grandsons: Mitchell Gibson of Perrysburg, Miles (Quin Rosenburg) Gibson of Leipsic, Austin Gibson of Raleigh, North Carolina and Ryan Gibson of Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Vi retired from Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon where she cherished the many friends she made over the years. She was a member of Leipsic United Methodist Church. Vi enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. The family would like to thank the staff at The Meadows of Leipsic for their loving care and attentiveness. Vi had two very special friends that helped her remain in her home as long as she could and they were Shelly Meyer and Sharon Peterson.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 3, 2022 at Leipsic United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Graves officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022.  Masks are strongly requested at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
