Viola Mae Sorensen

Continental -- Viola Mae Sorensen, 82, of Continental passed away 9:54 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Twin Rivers Care Center, Defiance following an extended illness.  She was born May 11, 1934 in Continental to the late Elmer and Doris (Corkwell) Schwartzengraber.  On February 10, 1973 she married Nelson T. Sorensen, Jr., who preceded her in death on February 5, 1989.

Viola is survived by 4 sisters:  Mary Mays of Oakwood, Katheryn (Lee) Brinkman of Continental, Charlene (Gary) Spencer of Aliso Viejo, CA and Geraldine Catto of Boise, ID and a brother:  James (Sandy) Schwartzengraber of Elida.

She is preceded in death by 6 brothers:  Robert, Donald, Glenn, Richard, Charles and Doyle Schwartzengraber and 4 sisters:  Betty Frees, Wanda Noia, Alice Horn and Carol Thrash.

Viola retired as a secretary from Northeast Utilities, Greenwich, CT.

The funeral service for Viola will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating.  Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery, Continental.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
