Violet J. Wagner
CONTINENTAL - Violet J. Wagner, 92, of Continental died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born September 1, 1922 in Paulding County to the late Ora and Arlene (Byrd) Dunlap. On November 22, 1939 she married Lauren "Scrappy" Wagner who died January 14, 2004.
She is survived by 4 children: Mary (H.D.) Prowant of Continental, David O. (Judy) Wagner of Sundance, WY., Erma (Bill) Rau of Continental and Donald B. (Karen) Wagner of Continental; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Grace Buckmaster of Defiance and Margaret (Edwin) Wagner of Kalida. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Bonnie Jean Wagner; a great-grandson: Dustin D. Rau; and 3 brothers: Ray, Glen, and Darwin Dunlap.
Violet and her husband owned Vi's Pizza in Continental for several years. She was a member of the New Bavaria VFW Auxiliary and the Continental American Legion Auxiliary.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental, with Pastor Charles Schmunk officiating. Burial will follow in North Mount Zion Cemetery, Continental. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday all at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Society.
