Violet O. Bodenbender
OAKWOOD – Violet O. Bodenbender, 96, of Oakwood died 4:00 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Laurels of Defiance.  She was born March 16, 1916 in Oakwood to the late George A. and Edna G. (Ream) Grimes.
Surviving are 2 sons: Richard (Angie) Bodenbender of Continental and Jerry (Linda) Bodenbender of Defiance; a stepson: Darwin (Sharon) Bodenbender of Salem, OR; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Brenda Frankhart; a brother: Cleo Grimes and 2 sisters: Faye Grimes and Ladene Brown.
Violet was a former secretary for Oakwood Elevator and Webb Bros. Construction in Defiance.  She graduated from Oakwood High School in 1933.  She loved bingo.
A funeral service will begin 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood with Rev. James Fry officiating.  Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood.   Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to service Monday at the funeral home.
