Virgil C. "Bub" Heuerman
GLANDORF – Virgil C. "Bub" Heuerman, 84, of Glandorf died at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born August 29, 1927 in New Cleveland to the late John B. and Mary R. (Rump) Heuerman. On June 12, 1948 he married Patricia A. Roof who survives in Glandorf.
Also surviving are 7 children: Tom (Kris) Heuerman of Findlay, Gerald (Sandra) Heuerman of Miller City, Eugene (Terry Ann) Heuerman of Cloverdale, Jim (Michelle) Heuerman of Miller City, Melvin Heuerman of Continental, Jane (Jerry) Niese of Miller City, and Joan (Rick) Romer of Glandorf; 16 grandchildren including Shawn who is serving in Afghanistan, soon to be home; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Elmer (Vi) Heuerman and Donald Heuerman both of New Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Mary Lou Heuerman; a son: Mike Heuerman; 3 brothers: Leonard, Norbert, and Urban Heuerman; and a sister: Dorothy Heuerman.
Virgil was a heavy equipment operator for 39 years for E.J. Meyer, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and it's Men's Society. He was also a member of Leipsic Hunting and Fishing Club, Sons of the American Legion #63 of Ottawa, Ottawa Eagles, Leipsic Eagles, Columbus Grove Eagles, Operating Engineer's Union, and was a social member of Ottawa VFW. Virgil was a retired volunteer fireman in Glandorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME Ottawa where there will be a scripture service at 1:45 p.m. and a VFW service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, Putnam County Hospice, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
