Virginia A. "Ginny" Critten

LEIPSIC – Virginia A. "Ginny" Critten, 82, of Leipsic, passed away at 10:13 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born September 26, 1941, in Leipsic to the late Clifford and Ruth (Jefferies) Brooks.  On June 13, 1964, she married Charles "Jim" Critten, Sr. who preceded her in death on September 21, 2017.

Survivors include four children: Charles "Jimmy" Critten, Jr. of Moore, Steve Critten, Timothy (Amanda) Critten, both of Leipsic and Billy (Brian) Sallee of Alger; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Diane) Brooks of North Baltimore; and two sisters-in-law: Sonya Brooks and Wilma Brooks.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Dean Critten; and three brothers: Clifford "Sonny" Brooks, George Brooks and Dennis (Joyce) Brooks.

Virginia was a homemaker and member of the Leipsic United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bingo, camping, casinos, traveling all over the United States, being the neighborhood cat lover and was the biggest Ohio State Buckeyes fan around. Family was everything to Virginia, especially her husband, Jim. She stayed by his side until his passing. Virginia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed.

The family has requested family and friends to wear Ohio State or casual clothing for Virginia's services.

Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Ruth Carter-Crist officiating.  Burial will follow at Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
