Walter Hoehn
LIMA - Walter Hoehn, 95, of Lima, formerly of Ottoville, died at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at The Springs of Lima. He was born May 4, 1926 in Ottoville to Andrew and Rosa (Weber) Hoehn.
Survivors include seven children: Ruth (Terry) Wannemacher of Ottoville, Linda (Randy) Schroeder of Mason, MI., Edward (Marcy) Hoehn of Ottoville, Diane (Terry) Lee of Lima, Steven (Cathy) Hoehn of Ottoville, Mary Beggs of Lima, and Timothy (Chris) Hoehn of Glandorf; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Mary Balbaugh and Jane Hanneman; one step-daughter-in-law: Jan Kennedy of Lima; two step-daughters: Jeannine (John) Clark and Lynnette (Don) Holdreve; and two step-brothers-in-law: Pat (Carol) Burnison and Mark Binkley.
He is preceded in death by a son: Michael Hoehn; two brothers: John (Alberta) Hoehn and Lawrence (Larry) Hoehn; two sisters: Hilda (Wilbert) Menker and Ann (Jerome) Bonifas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sylvester (Edna) Hanneman, Ignatius Hanneman, Francis (Mary Ann) Hanneman, John (Rita) Gerten, Neil Balbaugh, Bill (Eleanor) Schnipke, Joe (Rita) Hanneman, Tom (Margie) Hanneman and Bob Hanneman.
Walter married his first wife Agnes Hanneman on November 25, 1950. Agnes died on June 22, 1969. He then married Rose Marie Vincke on August 20, 1971 and she died on October 27, 1989. He then married Betty Heitmeyer on April 5, 1991 and she died on June 8, 2011. On September 3, 2012, Walter married Colene Toinette "Toni" Meyer and she died on May 9, 2021.
Walter was a farmer and did carpenter work. He liked to dance and play cards. He was a jack of all trades, always had a plan and was known for "putzin'" around. He belonged to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Lima and was formerly a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was also a member of Lima Eagles 370 and the Putnam County Farm Bureau.
Funeral mass will begin 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Father Jerome Schetter and Father Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be held Sunday 2 - 8 p.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
