OAKWOOD – Wanda L. Taylor, 81, of Oakwood, passed away at 6:56 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at her residence. She was born October 26, 1942, in Paulding to the late Brice and Freda (Ankney) Carnahan. On June 25, 1960, she married Martin E. Taylor, who survives in Oakwood.
She is survived by three children: Rodney (Brenda Conkright) Taylor of Hamler, Ronda Dull of Melrose and Robert E. (Melissa) Taylor of Napoleon; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Gladys Hammon of Charloe, Raynord Carnahan of Kalida, Larry (Diana) Carnahan of Cloverdale and Gary (Sandy) Carnahan of Defiance.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Renita Ellen Taylor; a granddaughter, Tiffany Taylor; a brother, Brice Carnahan, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Carnahan.
Wanda was a homemaker who had previously worked at the Morning Store Convenience Store in Melrose. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Paulding. She enjoyed baking wedding and birthday cakes, crocheting baby blankets, and spending time with her friends and family.
Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Paulding with Bruce Erford officiating. Burial will follow at Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood.
