Wanda E. Engard
LEIPSIC - Wanda E. Engard, 94, of Leipsic died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was born January 9, 1921 in Jackson, MI to the late Alpha E. and Iva J. (Snellenberger) Shiveley. On August 29, 1947 she married Clois E. Engard who died August 6, 1998.
She is survived by 4 children: Sharon (Glenn) Elchert of Fostoria, Vicki Engard of Camarillo, CA, James (Sharon) Engard of Leipsic, and Patricia (Gene) Kreinbrink of Glandorf;  7 grandchildren: Kathy Balbaugh of Ottawa, Jen (Mike) Lake of Swanton, Rich (Tara) Rower of Dayton, Peggy Lemons of Findlay, Jason (Lindsay) Elchert of Findlay, Brian Elchert of Cuyahoga Falls, and Darcie Engard of Leipsic; 2 step-grandchildren: Brad (Lisa) Kreinbrink of Tipp City and Alicia Fenbert of Spencerville; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law: Richard Rower of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Linda K. Rower and 2 sisters: A. Jeanne (Harper) Hanauer and Mary P. (Robert) Reed.
Wanda was a retired telephone operator for the Leipsic Telephone Company and a homemaker. She graduated in 1939 from Leipsic High School and attended Ohio Northern University in Ada. She was a member of The Leipsic United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Women's Circle and various committees. Wanda was also a member of Leipsic Eastern Star, Leipsic American Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at The Meadows of Leipsic. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles.. Wanda loved keeping in touch with her children and grandchildren through daily emails, but especially enjoyed the family gatherings.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic. A private graveside service will be held at Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Memorials may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
