Wayne W. Westrick

OTTAWA – Wayne W. Westrick, age 76, passed from this earthly life at 10:41 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his home in rural Ottawa. He was the son of the late Urban and Mary Jane (Burkhart) Westrick. Wayne shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with Kathy (Dickerson) Westrick.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife, Kathy and their three children: Matt (Nataley) Westrick of Ottawa, Adam (Katie) Westrick and Dawn (Doug) Siefer, both of Kalida; 11 grandchildren: Wyatt and Parker Westrick, Maidge, Molly, Samantha, Zoey and Blaine Westrick and Alex, Ella, Grant and Charity Siefer.  He was recently blessed with a great-granddaughter, Lillyan Siefer. Also grieving his loss includes a brother, Keith (Sheila) Westrick of  Lakeview, OH; and his in-laws, Donald (Gladys) Dickerson of Metamora, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Steven Westrick.

Wayne graduated from Ada High School and studied accounting at Tiffin University. He worked in parts and sales at Allen County Tractor, Lima and sales at Tom Ahl Auto Dealership, Lima.

Wayne was a man who lived his Christian Faith and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. He was a devoted and very loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Faced with many health issues over the last half of his life, he met each challenge with admirable strength and optimism. He enjoyed talking about and studying cars and tractors, riding his Harley, and was a loyal Cleveland Indians/Guardians fan.

A memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating.  Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mercy Health St. Rita's Hospice, Lima or the American Diabetes Association.
