William R. Bockrath
OTTAWA – William R. Bockrath, 74, of Ottawa died at 3:35 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born June 3, 1943 in Ottawa to the late Amos and Martha (Agner) Bockrath. On June 22, 1974 he married Linda Laverty and she survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving are two children, Andrew Bockrath of Ottawa and Rebecca "Becky" (Mark) Broxterman of Hamilton; two grandchildren; Amber Broxterman and Lindsay Broxterman; a brother: Victor Bockrath of Ottawa and a sister, Joyce (Eugene) Korte of Ottawa. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Sylvester and Charles Bockrath.
Bill worked at the former Weather Seal in Ottawa and retired from KMI. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Precious Blood Companion's. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Ottawa and was a 1962 graduate of Glandorf High School. Bill was a volunteer for the Putnam County American Red Cross.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, where a scripture service will be at 7:50 p.m.
Memorials may be given to Putnam County Home Care and Hospice or Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
