WILLIAM DALE ELLIOTT
OTTAWA - William Dale Elliott, 76, of Ottawa, died at 7:03 a.m. Friday, Jne 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 24, 1935 in Columbus Grove to the late John Morris and Margaret Jane (Evans) Elliott. He married Virginia McClish and she died. On March 13, 1971, he married Janeen Joan Farthing and she survives in Ottawa. Also surviving are 6 children: Toni, Scott, Martin, Bradley (Jill) Elliott all of Ottawa, Mark (Cher) Elliott of Kalida, Stacy (Matthew) Wolfrum of Delta; a stepdaughter: Teresa; a step-sister: Roberta Leatherman of Lakeview; his dog, Sammy; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death also by a son: Keith Elliott; 4 brothers: John, Robert, Carlton and David Elliott and 2 sisters: Mary Elliott and Lois Elliott.
Dale retired from Philips in Ottawa and had worked for Niese Leasing in Ottawa. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa where he served as trustee. He was past president and member of Putnam Sledders Snow Mobile Club; Leipsic Fishing and Hunting Assoc; Lima Eagles and was a former Soccer coach. He was a Big Brother to Zack Basinger, hosted exchange students, 2 from Chile and 1 from Philippines. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motor Cycle, boating, camping and skiing.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa with Pastor Lynda Lockwood officiating. Burial will be in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa and one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
