William "Bill" Ladd

Cloverdale – William "Bill" Ladd, 82 of Cloverdale died 2:34 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at his residence.  He was born November 13, 1935 in Cloverdale to the late Bryan and Mary (Matson) Ladd.  On September 3, 1955 he married Norma Schneeg who survives in Cloverdale.

Bill is also survived by eight children: Richard Ladd of Columbus, William Ladd, Jr. of Oakwood, Elizabeth (Cline, Jr.)  Dockery of Continental, Ed Ladd of Cloverdale, Tom (Lisa) Ladd, Sandi (Buck) Pratt all of Ft. Jennings, Don (Becky) Ladd of Oakwood and Mary (Tom) Keller of Cloverdale; 27 grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Ladd of Cloverdale; 7 sisters: Alice Evans of Florida, Elizabeth "Dolly" Basinger of Cloverdale, Edna Halter and Marilyn Pier both of Oakwood, Margaret  Strayer of Delphos, Connie Brown of Defiance and Sue Wagner of Arthur and his faithful companion "Buster" the Dog.  He is also preceded in death by a brother, Richard (Dick) Ladd and two sisters: Norma Swartz and Helen Scott.

He was a roadman for Jackson Township for 22 years.  Bill liked working on his tractors and playing cards.  He loved his John Deere Lawn Mower.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Twp. with Tony Gonzalez officiating.   Burial will follow in Cascade Cemetery, Cloverdale.  Visitation will be Tuesday, 2 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Putnam County Hospice.
