William Richey

OTTAWA - William Richey, 90, of Ottawa, died 3:54 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his residence.  He was born March 10, 1930 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Kenneth and Ariel (Simon) Richey.  On May 29, 1954 he married Belva Ann Ruhe.  She died March 18, 2015.

Survivors include five children: Vicky Emry, Sharon (Michael) Wagner both of Ottawa, Karen Unverferth of North Augusta, SC, Toma Jo Richey of Ottawa and Denise (Gary) Verhoff of Kalida; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and special buddy, Brayden Haehn of Delphos.

William retired after 35 years with the West Ohio Gas Company.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and the Ottawa Eagles.  William was a US Navy Veteran and a member of the Ottawa American Legion and VFW.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, horseshoes, corn hole, making hot sauce and BBQ sauce and trips to Tennessee.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.  In keeping with social distancing guidelines, visitation will be from noon until the time of service Wednesday.   Masks are required.
