William J. Schroeder

PANDORA - William J. Schroeder, 73, of Pandora, died 6:30 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 25, 1948 in Lima to the late Alphonse W. and Emma (Krietemeyer) Schroeder. On December 4, 2009, he married Betty Hammett. She survives in Pandora.

Other survivors include four children: Benjamin Schroeder of Sioux Falls, SD, Molly (Joe) Riepenhoff of Worthington, Karen (Ben) Graves of Twinsburg and Theresa (Jason) Hageman of Delphos; two stepchildren: Adrianna Hickman of Westlake, Angelo (Jeanine) Hickman of Vermilion; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five brothers: Herbert (Nancy) Schroeder of Florida, Alphonse (Helen) Schroeder of Ottawa, Jay (Doris) Schroeder of Ottawa, Wayne Schroeder of Lima and Peter (Sabrina) Schroeder of Boise, ID; six sisters: Rosemary Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove, Emily (Stan) Karhoff of Ottawa, Elaine (David) Odenweller of Ottawa, Christine (James) Heringhaus of Ottawa, Joyce Gerdeman of Elida and Wilma Schroeder of Siler City, NC

He was preceded in death by two sisters: Janice Schulte and Beth "Bert" Schroeder; and a brother, Philip Schroeder.

William was a lifelong farmer and a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf. He was also a Riley Township Trustee for 31 years.

Funeral Mass will begin 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating and military rites by Ottawa VFW, American Legion and AMVETS. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa.
